Homework

  • The purpose of homework is to reinforce learning, make up missed assignments, and enrich the subject matter presented in class.  When homework is assigned to students, the expectation is that homework will be completed and turned in to the teacher at the expected time.  Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday.

Parental interest and involvement is vital to the child’s success in school. Homework completion is a shared responsibility. Parents should provide an appropriate study environment and allow adequate time for homework completion.  Families should offer encouragement and guidance for the student.  Homework may include “standing” assignments such as weekly spelling tests, reading in a subject area, practicing math facts, etc.  These types of ongoing assignments are important in developing self-directed study habits.
