A Message from the Office of the Deputy Superintendent

  • Welcome to Alhambra.  The Alhambra Elementary School District has a long and proud history of service to the families of west Phoenix and our community.   Our nation, our state and our city are large and diverse in terms of race, religion, ethnicity, and social standing.  Neither individuals, or our society in general, will function at its best without mutual respect, knowledge, and ease in our daily interactions with each other.

The United States has become the world’s superpower because of what American workers know and what they do, and ninety percent have been educated in America’s public schools. As a public-school district, we strive to proactively teach our students to respect others, tolerate differences, interact with, and, hopefully, enjoy people who are both similar and different than themselves.  In bringing thousands of our diverse students together each day, our employees commit to educating them and to enriching their lives.

Alhambra educators are devoted to educating the whole child through equitable access to the four A’s - academics, athletics, the arts and activities.  Our measure of success as a District will be students who leave our schools prepared to meet the demands of their high school education and their lives beyond the classroom.

Leading our schools and our District Office is a team of principals and District leaders who possess servant leaders’ beliefs.   We strive to distribute our leadership among team members, to place the needs of our students, families and employees first, and to focus on the growth of the people and communities which we serve.

Thank you for your interest in our District.  We look forward to working with you!

    Michael Rivera,

    Deputy Superintendent
