About Alhambra...
The Alhambra Elementary School District is located in west-central Phoenix and serves over 10,000 students in preschool through eighth grades. Children from approximately 57 different countries attend the 16 schools and preschool in the district. Nearly 92% of the students in the district qualify for federally subsidized free or reduced-price food services, a nationally recognized poverty indicator. Our students consistently overcome insurmountable odds to achieve their goals. Your tax credit supports outstanding programs that provide each child with the skills and opportunities to discover, explore, and refine their talents in STEM, art, music, sports, and band as well as participate in explorative field trips and after-school tutoring to help them achieve their goals. What is a tax credit?
A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the actual tax amount owed. For example, if you owe $700 in state income taxes and you donate $400 to a public school for extracurricular activities, you may subtract the $400 from your tax bill and pay the state just $300. If you anticipate a refund from the state, it would increase by the amount of your contribution, assuming you had that amount withheld. So, when you give now, you truly do get it ALL back! How is the money used?
According to the law, these donations must be used for extracurricular activities. With your help, Alhambra is able to offer tutoring, band, music, art, recreational activities, and much more. Extracurricular activities help children develop qualities such as leadership, team play, and cooperation, as well as provide safe, supervised activities after school hours. These activities provide an opportunity to experience success! One of our after-school STEM clubs won national awards two years in a row for designing a robotic arm! Your contribution inspires innovation!Who is eligible?
All Arizona Taxpayers are eligible to take advantage of this tax credit regardless of whether or not they have children in school. A married couple filing jointly may contribute and receive a tax credit for a maximum of $400. A single individual may contribute up to $200. You have until April 15 to contribute for the previous tax year. You can donate online the DAY you file your taxes. An instant receipt will be provided for tax purposes! How can I take advantage of this tax credit?
You can use your debit or credit card to donate online. Or, if you prefer, simply complete our Tax Credit Form and mail it along with your check to the Alhambra Elementary School District Office.
