School Safety Officers
Jan. 31, 2025
Alhambra Families,
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families is a top priority. Soon, School Safety Officers will be joining our district to serve as a resource for our schools and community. These officers will be uniformed, armed, off-duty police officers, and their primary role is to create a safe learning environment, build trust, and serve as mentors for our students.
We want to be clear that these officers will not be involved in student discipline, will not have access to any student personal information, and will not enforce immigration laws on our campuses. Their presence is designed to foster positive relationships and support and ensure campus is safe at all times, not to create fear. These officers will engage in law-related education and be active participants in our community to build trust and support students in meaningful ways.
Before working in our schools, these officers will receive Alhambra-specific training to ensure they fully understand their role in our district and community.
We understand the importance of trust and want to reassure you that their presence is intended to keep students safe, not to intimidate. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are excited about the positive impact these officers will have on fostering a safe and supportive environment for all our students.
Thank you for being an essential part of making Alhambra a safe place for all to learn and grow.
