Spring break comes to an end. Take some time this weekend to explore, read, or create something new with your family. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to school on Monday!

Use spring break to help your student feel confident as state assessments approach. When talking about testing, keep things positive, avoid extra pressure, and remind them that mistakes are normal. Staying calm makes all the difference!

Every student. Every classroom. Every opportunity. Public Schools Week is a reminder of the shared commitment to help all students learn, grow, and succeed.

Public schools open doors to opportunity. From academics to arts, athletics to leadership, our students are supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Public schools are the heart of our communities. Join us in celebrating the incredible students, educators, staff, and families who make our schools such special places to learn and grow. We’re proud to serve our entire community every single day.

Strong routines = strong performance
Consistent routines like setting a regular homework time each afternoon help students stay focused, manage emotions, and be ready to learn. They support attention, well-being, and academic success.
Small, steady habits at home make a big difference at school.

Ideas come to life at Alhambra. We encourage our students collaborate, share their thinking, listen to one another, and build understanding together.

Everyday our students take part in classroom experiences that build skills, strengthen understanding, and support academic growth.

Learning comes alive through movement at Alhambra. In PE, students explore, play, and challenge themselves, gaining confidence, coordination, and important life skills that nurture the whole child.

We are so proud of Angelica Garcia, academic coach at Westwood Elementary School, for being named a 2025–26 Milken Educator and the only educator in Arizona to receive this honor this year. During a schoolwide celebration, she was recognized with this prestigious award and a $25,000 cash prize, presented by Dr. Joshua Barnett from the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, with Arizona Superintendent Tom Horne in attendance.
Ms. Garcia’s dedication to students, teachers, and her school community shines every day. Her leadership, expertise, and heart make a lasting impact, and we are thrilled to celebrate her incredible accomplishment as part of the Alhambra family.

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and District 4 City Councilwoman Laura Pastor visited Westwood Elementary School today to celebrate the holiday season with our students and families. They spent time greeting students and joining families during the holiday meal. Their presence made the day extra special, and we are grateful for the time they dedicated to our community.

Focused, creative, and bringing ideas to life!
At Alhambra, we don’t just teach the fine arts, we value them. Our students pour their passion into every project, turning simple materials into vibrant expressions of who they are and who they’re becoming. They’re not just making art today… they’re creating their future.

While our leaves might not change, the fall spirit is alive in our classrooms! 🍂
Students are exploring how pumpkins grow, learning about seeds, vines, and the journey to harvest. This hands-on activity is helping them develop important observation and critical thinking skills.
