Principal's Message - Sevilla Elementary - East
Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,
Welcome to Sevilla East! My name is Griselda Cohen, and I am honored to serve as your principal. It is both a privilege and a joy to lead a school community where every child is seen, valued, and supported in reaching their full potential.
I am new to Sevilla East this year and excited to serve the Alhambra community. This will be my third year as a school principal, and I bring experience working with students from kindergarten through eighth grade. My background includes teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels, as well as serving as a reading and math interventionist. As a school leader, I have had the opportunity to coach teachers, partner with families, and collaborate with our community to build a school culture grounded in trust, high expectations, and shared responsibility. I believe in empowering students to grow in confidence as learners and to discover their unique strengths as future leaders.
Outside of school, I’m a proud mother of two, which deepens my commitment to creating a learning environment that nurtures the whole child. I am especially passionate about helping young students find their voice, build resilience, and develop a strong sense of purpose.
At Sevilla East, we live our district’s mission: every moment, every lesson, every learner. This means we treat every experience as an opportunity to grow, make every lesson meaningful, and remain fully invested in the success of each and every student.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. I look forward to partnering with you to make this school year one of growth, connection, and success.
Warm regards,
Ms. Griselda Cohen
Principal, Sevilla East
