We have amazing news coming from Alhambra High School – former Granada East student, and now Alhambra High School senior, Daniela Trujillo Arcineaga, has been recognized as a future Lumberjack! Phoenix Union’s ‘Good News Daily’ newsletter reports that she, “had a big surprise, March 1, when the Phoenix Suns Charities and Northern Arizona University came to campus with a big check. NAU representatives had come to campus earlier, interviewing Alhambra students, and offering a small amount of funding. But in reality, they were looking for that one special student - someone with a 3.2 grade point average or higher, a history of involvement in both their school and community who had a strong interest in NAU. Suns Charities and NAU representatives, including mascots, visited Arcineaga’s class, and presented her with a $40,000 four-year full-ride tuition scholarship. She wants to be a pediatrician, and she really wanted to pursue that at NAU. Her dream came true.” Congrats, Daniela! We’re incredibly proud and so excited for what you’re future holds!
Thank you, Alhambra community, for being strong supporters of the Alhambra Elementary School District! On November 7, our community voted to approve a bond election to benefit our students! One thing is for sure, AESD’s students will continue to be able to compete with other students throughout the state of Arizona and have state-of-the-art learning facilities and gymnasiums for our after-school sports programs and activities. We are well on our way to continuing to “Educate the Whole Child!” Thank you putting children first… they truly are the winners!
