The start of a brand new year is just around the corner, and the Alhambra Elementary School District is excited to see all of our students back in school. As our parents and students eagerly prepare for the journey ahead, the district is happy to announce our schools’ “Meet the Teacher” days! Our district also to wants our community to keep these helpful tips in mind for the back-to-school season: 

• Re-establish a routine: After a long break, it can be a bit challenging to get back into the school routine. Some gradual adjustments can be made so the transition is smoother for both parents and students. Try adjusting your child’s sleep schedule gradually a couple of weeks before the first day of school. 
• Talk about safety: Whether students are starting school for the first time or returning from summer break, emphasizing safety measures can help them feel confident and secure. Review safety precautions with your students, such as looking both ways before crossing the street, taking a familiar route each day, and being cautious in talking with strangers. 
• Limit screen time: As the new school year begins, it’s essential to create a balance between technology use and other activities to promote healthy habits and academic success. Create a structured daily or weekly schedule that includes designated screen time periods, communicate these limits clearly, and enforce them consistently. 
• Manage school contacts: It’s important to collect and maintain school contact information. Managing school contacts effectively is key to staying organized and informed during the school year. 
• AND Meet your teacher! Meeting your student’s teacher at the beginning of the school year is a great opportunity to establish a positive relationship and gather important information. Our schools will hold their Meet-the-Teacher Day on Monday, August 7th at the times below.
