We’re excited to announce an amazing opportunity for our students, brought to you by the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation in partnership with School Connect. This Valley Readers initiative is designed to:
1. Encourage reading across our district.
2. Celebrate and reward our students for their efforts:
    ◦    Pre-K through 3rd-grade readers will earn prizes for their reading time.
    ◦    4th through 8th-grade mentors will be recognized for supporting our youngest readers.
    ◦    Schools with the highest average reading minutes will win special prizes.
This is a fun competition between three districts—Alhambra, Laveen, and Tempe—and we’re determined to lead the pack! Let’s show everyone how much Alhambra loves to read.


We encourage you to support your child’s participation by helping track their reading, reading with them, and cheering them on. Let’s make this quarter one to remember!
