Dear Alhambra Family,
Protecting the health and well-being of students and staff remains a top priority amid the pandemic. That is why out of an abundance of caution, and with rising COVID-19 case numbers within our community, our district will continue to enforce face-covering regulations for students, staff, and visitors. This means everyone will be required to wear a face-covering indoors regardless of vaccination status when in a group setting unless they qualify for an exemption under AESD regulations.
Many of our young students are not yet eligible to be vaccinated and as a result, are now more vulnerable to contracting COVID-19 and spreading it to their families. Especially now, with the heightened spread of the Delta Variant.
The board’s position aligns simply reinforces our commitment to creating a safe environment to learn/teach and aligns with recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Association of Pediatrics (AAP), the Arizona Department of Health and Safety (AZDHS), and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH).
