2-1-2 Learning Wednesdays

  • Goal:  To design a recommended framework for Learning Wednesdays during the 2020-2021 school year.

    Current Work:

    • Leaders from Learning Wednesday & Teacher Wednesday committees have been collaborating weekly to discuss cohesive, logical plans supporting students & teachers.
    • Developed 3 proposals, and chose 1 for their committee recommendation for Learning Wednesday with time considerations for K-3 & 4-8.
    • The committee is currently considering the scope of support needed to facilitate technology for all students.

     

    Committee Recommendations:

    Grades PreK-3rd Wednesday Schedule 1-2 hours

    • Collect materials and go to work space
    • Review of the core:   20-45 min
    • Special Areas (Site-Based):  10-30 min
    • Stretch Break:  10-15 min  
    • School Choice:  30-45 min

    • Math:  3-4 Additional Practice Problems

    Stretch Break (10-15 min)  ** is not included in the 1-2 hours of learning time

    • Art:  Read an informational piece about current art project (artist or art style)
