Child Nutrition
Healthy Meals
With the implementation of "Nu Menus," the Alhambra School District's Child Nutrition Department makes sure that every breakfast and lunch served has gone through a complete nutritional analysis. Servings are based on calorie requirements for breakfast and lunch. Each group receives the recommended daily allowance determined by U.S.D.A. Children participating in both the breakfast and lunch programs receive approximately two-thirds of the recommended daily allowance.
Students select the entrée in order for the lunch to be a reimbursable meal. An entrée is defined as a "combination of foods or a single food item that is offered as the main course."
